Baseball wins season opener against Purdue 17-6

Western Carolina wins seventh straight season opener and tenth in to begin 2015 season at Childress Field/Hennon Stadium.

2016 (Senior): Started each of the 60 games in which he saw action with 57 starts in left field and three as the designated hitter ... Finished the year second on the team among the regulars with a .340 batting average, collecting 81 hits in 238 at bats ... His 81 hits ranked tied for ninth in the SoCon ... Recorded 21 extra base hits including 10 doubles, three triples and eight home runs ... Led the Catamounts -- and ranked tied for fourth in the SoCon -- with 65 RBI ... Paced the SoCon after being hit by 18 pitches, tied for fourth in WCU's single-season record books ... Was a two-time Southern Conference Player of the Week honoree ... Collected his first weekly honor on March 28 by batting . 625 with 10 base hits including three for extra bases at North Carolina (March 22) and at home against ETSU (March 24-26) ...
